A Note About the Series FROM THE FIELD
I have for many years observed the plants and flowers reborn each spring and summer in the fields and woods around my studio in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These plants include many that are commonly called weeds as well as other volunteer plants and garden perennials, all of which I gather at different stages of growth. Observing their forms is pure pleasure, and for me, their "imperfections" add to their interest—a way of sensing a deeper essence, akin to the beauty and wisdom of an aging friend.
